vestal is a reference from roman mythology, where a woman would dedicate herself to be in service to the temple, and take a vow to be a virgin, on one hand it talks about innocence, on the other it talks about resignation from life, the tragedy of life is not the fact of death but dying inside while still living, fear is the enemy of progress, it takes no courage to fight when you believe you can win, what takes real courage is fighting when you're not going to win, fear is temporary, regret is forever, pain is fear leaving the body, this movie is about a couple who fall in love and then break up, with the help of a scientist, then they both try to erase their memories of each other from their minds, but in the process realize they really do love each other, and get back together, half of the movie takes people inside their heads, where they’re escaping the erasing of their memories
